The Cons

While there are gains, there are also drawbacks in acquiring this fragile piece. One too obvious reason for some consumers is the exorbitant cost. Usually, the price is pegged at a thousand dollars, which for some common American household, may be a li'l much to expend from their budget. More so, you cannot entrust everything to LCDs; they can be unreliable when it comes to cable programming and satellite transmission. Some LCDs are also not advisable for video gaming while some of its external components can be a hassle, too. If plasma sets burn in static image, it can damage the TV permanently. So if I were you, I'll assess its real value.
